Christmas Magic

We have Survived

We had a very laid back Christmas. We made a trip to the downtown square to look at the lights and ride ponies. We went to church on Christmas Eve and then to a friend's house for a Happy Birthday Jesus party. Then it was home and to bed! Santa was on his way. Of course, Santa needed to do some last minute wrapping! The girls were awakened by a bell and cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate in bed. I guess dad is starting a new, very sugary tradition. Then it was time to get to the fun part. Santa brought the girls a doll house, a vacuum cleaner, a watch, and a microphone. Colby got a little drum. PawPaw and Granny and Uncle Chris and Aunt Mekell were very good to all of us too!
We hope you all had a blessed Christmas and did not forget the BEST gift of all - Jesus Christ and life eternal in Heaven!

Merry Christmas from the Carter's!

Here is a small slideshow that we put together instead of a yearly newsletter, or Christmas family pic postcard. If you'd like the full version which includes little descriptions of the pictures, you can go here: http://carters.slidez.net/2007

Take care!

Emory's Fourth Birthday

Emory Morgan just turned 4 years old... and of course we can't believe it.

She had a party at our house, with lots of her friends there to cheer her on... and eat cake and ice cream late in the afternoon. It might take awhile before parents speak to us again.

Emory really gets into a Disney show called "Little Einsteins", so she wanted to have her party reflect that. Becky dressed her up as her favorite character June, and then made her a really cool cake shaped like the rocket ship that the cartooners fly around in:

After the party, instead of cleaning up, we decided to go grab a bite to eat. There is a video to the right (I think Video2) that shows the restaurant waitresses singing her "Happy Birthday" and giving her a peppermint patty with a candle in it. There were also 4 lollipops.... Emory gave each of us one. It was really sweet!

Here's our clan at the end of the eventful day:

FYI, the videos over there may take a bit to load up, depending on computer and bandwidth speed.... let us know if you have problems seeing them.

My Lil' Gems

Avery is hanging in there as the new big sister in the house. She of course has a black eye in the pic - she is always falling or bunping into things. She is so funny and will definitely keep us all rolling the older she gets. Colby is just growning so fast. I would bet that he is getting close to 10lbs. He is 7 weeks old now and really starting to interact with open mouth smiles. He is a little sweetheart.

Book Character Parade

Emory's preschool had a book character parade. The kids all dressed up as their favorite book character. Of course, Emory chose Belle... the only problem - mom forgot to send the book with her. As she introduced herself... she says " I am Belle and I get to bring my book tomorrow." Yeah, cute, but rips out the mom who forgot's heart! Then, she stepped forward and gave a little pose... hilarious and precious. She does this grin and cocks her head - all sweet and innocent!

Daddy Double Date

Jim and Emory went to the Razorback basketball game with friends Damon and Taylor. A daddy double date!

Autumn Festivities

We have had so much fun the last month. Besides getting into the swing of three children, we have enjoyed the change of seasons. We love the fall and have taken full advantage. It has been beautiful! From pumpkin patches, to pumpkin carving, to camping tents... we have had so much fun watching our babies grow and change!

Colby - 1 month old

Colby is now almost 6 weeks old and he is definitely getting plump. He is such a sweetheart and a good baby. His older sisters are doing well with him. Emory is always saying that she loves her little brother and Avery is always saying "Hi Boby!" and kissing his head. We have adjusted well and are enjoying having a big family. It is hard to have all these babies, but WOW! What a blessing and a joy!

Update... finally

Sorry that it has taken so long to update. We are adjusting to the new little man.... or maybe he's adjusting to us.

Our new family pic

With our other pregnancies, we have had a family pic done. Miranda, our most fabulous neighbor, has started a photography business. So, we decided to hire her. She did a great job. Thanks Miranda! This is the pic that she printed and framed for me for my birthday. Just wanted to share.

School days

Wow, we have been pretty busy these last couple of weeks. Emory started preschool. She LOVES going and gets upset when I get there to pick her up. Avery also started her Mothers Day Out program. Her teachers say she is so easy and is just about the only one who does not cry the whole time.
As far as Colby, we are still hanging in there. Today's appointment went well. His heartbeat sounds great and we are still making some progress. We will go back Tuesday and see if we are ready to have a baby on Wednesday the 19th. We'll see!
Oh, and I turned 31.... ugh I am getting to the middle aged stage of life!

Happy Labor Day

No - no labor for us yet. The only labor for us today was to finish Colby's room. Jim and I painted the stripes on the wall and I painted the letters for his name.
Well, I am officially 36 weeks pregnant and it could be as long as 4 weeks.... but, I am being told that we only have a couple of weeks left. Maybe the 19th? We will hopefully know more after our appointment on Thursday.
Love to you all!

5 weeks and counting..

This is the pic taken for my 35th week of pregnancy. I start my weekly visits to the Dr. on Thursday the 30th. Also, Dr. Cole said he could be bribed into talking about scheduling a day to have this baby around 37 or 38 weeks. So, next Thursday we may have a birth date! We'll keep you updated. The way I have been feeling lately... Colby may make an early arrival!

R U Ready for some football!!!!!!

This Saturday was the annual Razorback scrimmage game. We had a hot and humid time.... the girls had a "ball". Emory kept singing "Take me out to the ball game" and then she would say, oops wrong song! She also got to play with her friend, Taylor. Taylor's dad is as BIG a hog fan as Emory's dad. Avery just went along for the ride. We love living so close to the University and being able to get our girls into some good sports!

Daddy's Little Helpers

Jim was trying to fix the rail leading to the front door. He called in for reinforcements - he needed it!

Countdown-6 weeks (or less)

We are in countdown mode for Colby's arrival and mom to have her lap back. In all my glory, I will try to suck it up and share my last several weeks of good looks with you all.

Rainy Day Fun

So, we have not had rain in... who knows how long! Saturday, we finally got some good rain and it cooled things off. We decided to let our hair down and have some fun. Emory was so excited to finally get to use her new umbrella and so she decided to ride her car with the umbrella in the "sunroof" to keep her dry. Avery had a ball riding and pushing her own toys along side her big sister.

Garden Gone Wild

So, Becky decided this year that she wanted to grow a garden. Well, with all the rain we've gotten this summer, the garden's gotten a bit out of hand. In honor of my little farmer wife, I thought I would create an online competition: Can anyone guess what she's growing here?

Summer Update

The summer has been busy for us. Between birthday parties, weekend projects, visiting with out-of-town friends and preparing for the new arrival, the summer has flown by so far. I'm sure it does for everyone though!

Emory took her second swim class this year. She learned more about pool safety, and got to jump off the low-diving board. She's much braver than I was at that age (Becky has a theory about that, but we won't get into it here).

Listening to her instructors:

Learning how to use a life-jacket:

Getting ready to dive!

We also got the girls a small trampoline recently (or "jumpoline", according to Em). So far, no one's gotten hurt.

Family Truckster

Well..... we decided to place another piece of the puzzle in the American dream; with the impending arrival of little man, we realized that we needed a little more vehicular room.

"Now I can get you the Sports Wagon; the only problem is that it may take six weeks. I owe it to myself to tell you that if you're taking the whole tribe cross-country, the Wagon Queen Family Truckster is the way to go. You think you hate it now, but just wait until you drive it."

Though this was truly a great deal, as well as an impressive inheritance for Emory, we felt we should probably blend in with American society. This is what we came up with:

Now all we need is a white picket fence, and all will be right with our world. :)

Pink or Blue??

Just before the trip to Baton Rouge, Becky had her ultrasound. If we haven't told you what we're expecting yet, check out the video:

Mudbugs Galore

Becky and I wanted to have a Second Annual Crawfish Boil, but it seemed we were running out of time to plan it properly. We spontaneously decided to get some a few weeks ago, if anything to get our appetites primed for our upcoming Baton Rouge trip to visit Becky's family. We did invite some longtime friends of ours, Rick and Chris, to help us finish off 40 lbs:

We went down to Baton Rouge last week, and Chris (Becky's brother) boiled more crawfish for us. It was good stuff! Still can't get Emory to try one, but Becky did give Avery a spicy potato.... didn't go over very well. I got to see a couple of LSU baseball games, and we got to spend Mother's Day with Momma Judy. We had a great visit:
